Pcs Rattles
Starcraft by Muhammad Ashraf
Starcraft has been one of the best pc games to hit the market. Developed by Blizzard Entertainment during the late 1990′s, Starcraft turned out to be one of the most loved games of the era. In the years where RTS games are still developing to its maturity, Starcraft has captured the hearts of gamers through its balanced gameplay, its remarkable story line, its multiplayer options, and perhaps due to its crudeness and simplicity.
Though Starcraft is a decade-old game, fans of Starcraft never gets tired of it. A Terran marine standing up against a herd of ravenous Zerglings eager to rip him apart is always a good way to start a day. It has influenced a huge part of their gaming lives. No matter how many new games out there are released, nothing beats the feeling of reminiscing the past; looking for that Starcraft CD all around the house, reinstalling it, and loving the smell of burning Zerglings in the morning all over again.
Fans though have long wanted for a sequel for Starcraft. The game’s storyline has ended with the Protoss rebuilding their civilization, the remains of the Terran forces scattered and trying to undo the damage on their destroyed colonies, and the Queen of Blades name Kerrigan left drifting in space with her army of Zerg. This left the game having an unfitting end for such an epic story and left the fans longing for more. The story is somewhat made to end that way for a coming sequel which the fans awaited for years.
A little after the release and success of two of Blizzard’s classic games, Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, the game company released StarCraft: Ghost. An RPG game chronicling the life of a female Terran Ghost named Nova. This has stirred a commotion for fans but never really caught the essence of the original StarCraft, the original game being an RTS. Though the storyline of StarCraft: Ghost is related to what happened last in StarCraft: Broodwar, the game contributed little to the epic storyline of the original game.
Finally, Blizzard Entertainment announced a possible “real” sequel to their award-winning game. After years of developing several other games like Warcraft III, Starcraft: Ghost for PS2, and another award-winning online game called World of Warcraft, Blizzard has finally poured their resources in a project to create a sequel for Starcraft. This news caused havoc among StarCraft fans. For a considerable time and relentless effort in bugging Blizzard Entertainment for another alien-busting, adrenaline-pumping starcraft game, their plea has been heard at last.
The new StarCraft game was announced to be released without a definite time of release but assured that a sequel will definitely be released. It was announced some time in 2007 and ever since, the hearts of fans are caged rattling and howling inside them, waiting eagerly for the release of the most awaited and possibly a new legend that will come down forever in cyber gaming history. Fans all over the world had their fingers crossed, their excitement knew no bounds.
Never have we seen a game create such a fuss as StarCraft. It has made fans crazy for more. Blizzard proved to be one of the biggest names in the gaming world and their Starcraft would remain to be one of the best games to go down in gaming history.
